Nine out of ten French people have already visited a theme park and four in ten say they visit one at least once a year. This is revealed by a study conducted by Omnibus Tourism GfK with 1 000 Internet users. This survey also shows that theme parks are an asset for the tourism development in a region.
Parks are therefore intended to enrich and renew their attractions. Interactivity is now everywhere, both as a technical solution and to adapt to new customer behavior.
In the summer, amusement parks are attracting even more families and groups of friends. The leisure park market is indeed on the rise. According to a study by Xerfi, in 2018, they reached new attendance records. In addition to a propitious environment (increased purchasing power, influx of foreign tourists, etc.), the operators have reaped the benefits of massive investments to offer ever more innovative activities in line with public expectations. (virtual reality, thrills, etc …).
This leisure park market now generates around € 2.3 billion in revenue, attracting 40 million visitors each year. This is to say its importance in the tourist attractiveness of France. The country is also one of the champions in the field with 600 parks spread throughout the country, according to estimates by Xerfi.
